A mum-of-four has opened a new shop in Bourne to expand the range of childrenswear available in the town.

Amy Adams opened Apple Rose Boutique in West Street on Saturday.

She started trading online three months ago but was keen to bring new clothing ranges to her home town, so jumped at the chance when the premises became available.

Amy has previously worked in childcare and has four children herself - Morgan, 16, Lyndon, 12, Darcie-Rose, three, and 15-month-old Albie - so she was confident there would be a demand for a children’s shop.

She said: “I’ve always thought Bourne needs something like this. There is nowhere in the town that you can buy anything a bit different.”

The online business started out specialising in Spanish clothes. The new shop has a selection of Spanish occasionwear but also stocks everyday clothes and toys.

Amy said: “I’ve always liked Spanish clothes for my own children but have always had to buy them online. They were my inspiration for opening the shop.”

The boutique welcomed plenty of shoppers during its opening day who were pleased to welcome a new business to the town. Amy added: “Everyone agreed this is what Bourne needs. They think it’s brilliant that they don’t have to travel out of town to buy children’s clothes.”

Opening times are still being decided but the shop will be closed on Sundays and Wednesdays.
