UPDATE 6PM: A16 in Spalding re-opens following accident
Police have just re-opened the A16 in Spalding between the B1180 West Marsh Road and A151 Holbeach Road.
The road had been shut for six hours with police directing traffic while recovery work and oil spillage clearance took place.
UPDATE 5.10PM: Road still closed after A16 accident - and A17 now disrupted too
There is severe congestion coming in and out of Spalding as clear up work continues following an accident between a tractor and a car this morning.
There are long delays and queuing traffic both ways between the B1180 West Marsh Road junction and the A151 Holbeach Road junction because of the accident, recovery work and an oil spillage.
Police are directing traffic.
There is also disruption on the A17 with delays and queuing traffic northbound between the A151 junction in Holbeach and A16 junction in Fosdyke because of people diverting away from the A16 closure.
UPDATE 2.30PM: Man in stable condition after A16 crash in Spalding
A man in his sixties suffered chest injuries after a collision between a tractor and a car on the A16 in Spalding earlier today.
The Magpas Air Ambulance team treated him at the scene before accompanying him to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

A second patient, a man in his twenties, had not suffered any serious injuries and was briefly treated at the scene.
East Midlands Ambulance Service paramdedics, Fire and Rescue services and the Police were also present.
BREAKING 12.10PM: A16 closed in Spalding after accident
The A16 is currently closed in Spalding between the McDonalds roundabout and West Marsh Road roundabout.
Eye witnesses say a tractor and trailer were involved in an accident with a car.
Air Ambulance, fire engines, police and ambulances are at the scene.
Police are asking people to use alternative routes.
Meanwhile, a reader has informed us that, as a knock-on effect of the road closure, traffic is very heavy through Pinchbeck.
