Good Friday, April 7
Walk of Witness - midday, Stamford High Street for a short service. The procession then travels through the market.
Walk of Witness - 10am, St Gilbert’s RC Church, Bourne. Short service and a walk through town, calling at the Methodist Church and the Abbey Church and weather permitting concluding on the Wellhead Park with a service accompanied by The Salvation Army Community Band.
Walk of Witness - 10.30am from St John’s and St. Anne’s Westgate, and walking via the High Street, to the Market Place, Buttercross, Oakham. A short open air service, conducted by the Congregational Church minister, The Revd. Dr. Robert Hunter. Hot cross buns will be distributed to shoppers and passers by.
Walk of Witness - 9.45am, St Guthlac’s Church, Market Deeping
Easton Walled Gardens open gardens - 11am to 4pm. A 400-year-old, restored, 12 acre garden. Home to snowdrops, sweet peas, roses and meadows, as well as turf maze, yew tunnel and cut flower gardens. Gift shop and plants for sale. Admission £9, children £4.50. In aid of the National Garden Scheme.

Easter events - Harlaxton Manor, Grantham. 10am to 5pm (last entry 4pm). Adults £15 (£10), children £8.50. Family ticket is £40. www.harlaxton.co.uk
Candles around the Cross service - 10am, St John the Baptist Church Baston. An all age service and children and young people are invited to make an Easter garden to bring along and there will be hot cross buns and a drink afterwards.
Easter egg hunt - 2pm to 4pm , Kingsgate Community Church, Staplee Way, Peterborough. Free for children.

Easter coffee morning and stalls - 10am to 11.30am, Bourne United Reformed Church Hall, Eastgate, Bourne. Teas, coffees, hot cross buns, hot sausage rolls, bric-a-brac, jewellery and fellowship.
Easter Sunday, April 9
Live music - 4pm to 6pm, Mama Liz’s, North Street, Stamford. Extinction Road play a free gig in the back lounge. Eclectic mix of folk and pop.
Rocks by Rail open day - Easter bunny hunt and take a trip on The Rutlander train. 10am to 4pm, Ashwell Road, Cottesmore. Ticket information: rocks-by-rail.org
Easter Monday, April 10
Rocks by Rail open day - Take a trip on The Rutlander train and Ironstone Quarry Railway Day to mark the 50th anniversary of the last ironstone train to leave Sproxton Ironstone Quarry. Start of exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the closure of Rutland’s last ironstone quarry at Exton Park. Ticket information: rocks-by-rail.org
Easter egg hunt - 10.30am - 4pm (last entry 3.15pm), Peterborough Cathedral. Arts Society Stamford - 10.45am, Stamford Arts Centre. “A Brief Story of Wine”. Non-members are welcome to attend an introductory lecture for £5. It is recommended you are in your seat by 10.30am. More information at www.theartssocietystamford.org.uk.
The Rutland Group of the Hardy Plant Society - 7.30pm, Uppingham Methodist Church, Orange Street, LE15 9SQ. The speaker will be head gardener, Joe Whitehead on ‘The Gardens of Burghley House’, covering the latest developments. Artisans and Tradespeople of Stamford: Inns and Innkeepers, a Philippa Massey talk - 7.30pm, theatre, Stamford Arts Centre. Another in Philippa’s occasional series about the artisans and tradespeople of Stamford. The town is almost as well known for its pubs as its churches. Philippa looks at the variety of hospitality venues – inns, hotels, pubs, and beerhouses, that have existed in the town over time. She also investigates who ran them. Tickets for reserved seating, £6 (£5.50 concessions), available from the box office.

Deepings Heritage - 7.30pm, Deepings Community Centre, Market Deeping. A talk by Nancy Davenport on “Princess Gwenllion at Sempringham Abbey. Everyone welcome. Admission £3 for non-members.
