Woman and child die after a car was found submerged in a pond

A woman and child died after a car was found submerged in a pond.

Police were called to reports of a blue Ford Focus in the water next to Old Oundle Road, behind RAF Wittering, at 6.20pm on Saturday (September 3).

Firefighters rescued the boy from the car and he was taken to hospital for treatment but later died. The woman died at the scene.

Police say it is not clear how long the vehicle had been in the water.
