Mental health and wellbeing event taking place in Stamford in November

A mental health and wellbeing educational event is taking place in Stamford next month.

The event, on November 2 at the Stamford Town Hall, is being hosted by MindSpace Stamford, Stamford and District Lions and Lakeside Healthcare Stamford PPG.

One of the organisers, Harrish Bisnauthsing, said there had been a concerning rise in the number of younger people suffering from anxiety, stress and depression.

“There are a number of reasons for this including general societal worries such as financial concerns and work stress,” he said.

“This event is open to everyone though, whether you’re a carer or sufferer or just someone who has personal issues and would like to talk to someone about them.”

The programme includes a talk about mental health and wellbeing by Dr Dan Petrie, a workshop on how to manage anxiety, a session offering insight into practical everyday ideas that support good mental health and a question and answer session.

The free to attend event starts at 1pm and runs until 4pm.

Refreshments will be served.
