Peterborough and District Football League round-up




Joey Buckingham blasted a hat-trick as Stamford AFC Reserves ended the 100 percent record of Division Three leaders South Lincs Swifts in Saturday's Peterborough League clash.

Buckingham's treble and a goal from Mandlenkosi Ngwenya secured a 4-3 success for the Daniels against their previously unbeaten hosts at Borderville.

The victory keeps Stamford in second spot in the standings, three points behind the defeated table-toppers.

A second half revival helped King's Cliffe claim the points in their 3-2 away victory at Moulton Harrox Reserves.

The Hedgehogs were two goals adrift at the break before second half goals from Grant McClean, Neil White and Ashley Davies' last minute winner secured victory.

Wittering were 5-0 away winners at Elsea Park Eagles while Uppingham Reserves were beaten 4-0 at Park Farm Pumas A.

Cameron Cleaver hit a hat-trick as Uppingham Town maintained their impressive run of form in the Premier Division.

Cleaver's treble and strikes from Fin Bishop and Sam Blackwell helped the Rutland side to a 5-0 home win over Whittlesey Reserves at Tod's Piece.

The victory leaves Uppingham in third place in the top flight table, three points behind the top two of Crowland and Stanground Cardea Sports with a game in hand.

Town are now unbeaten in their last seven league games, having recorded six victories, ahead of Saturday's trip to Sawtry.

Oakham United are now third-from-bottom of the table after a 4-0 away loss at Deeping United where Harry Catanach scored all of the goals for the victorious hosts.

Deeping Rangers Reserves were unable to halt the 11-match winning streak of leaders Crowland after a 2-1 away loss with James Russell scoring their goal.

Stamford Bels won the battle of the top two teams in Division One as Jordan Neil netted twice in the 2-0 victory over Whaplode Drove Rovers for their 15th successive win of the campaign.

Wittering Premiair Reserves played out a goalless draw at Peterborough Rangers while Glinton and Northborough were beaten 3-0 at home by Warboys Reserves.

Bourne Town Reserves returned to winning ways in Division Two after three games without a victory.

Nathan Bills blasted a hat-trick as they defeated Stamford Bels Reserves 8-0 at the Abbey Lawn with Jamie Moore (two), Arron Pike, James Ferrow and Liam Bedford also netting.

Stamford Lions were 2-1 home winners over Oakham United Reserves thanks to goals from Ryan Brown and Simon Griffiths.

Stamford Lions Reserves secured a second derby victory of the day for the club after a 4-3 away win at Ketton Sports Black in Division Four.

Samuel Boateng, Dmytro Dushchak, Michael Faulkner and Jacob Townsend scored for Lions with Leigh Sharp and a Jack Milojevic brace compiling the Ketton tally.

Ketton Sports Blue lost 5-0 away at table-topping Thorpe Wood Rangers while Wittering Reserves were beaten 2-0 by visiting Glinton and Northborough Reserves as Owen Nazaruk-Wheeler and Oliver Goodyear struck the goals for the Spartans.
