Stamford have retained the services of midfielder Joe Burgess who has taken on a coaching role
Joe Burgess is set to combine his comeback from injury with a coaching role after agreeing to return to Stamford for the new season.
The combative midfielder is currently sidelined with an ACL injury which he sustained in the home match with Redditch United last season.
A successful operation - which a fundraising campaign by the club helped towards the costs - has put the former Boston United and Corby Town player on the road to recovery.
He explained: "It was a no-brainer to stay - this club is home and like a family to me.
"The support which I've had from the fans, staff and players since joining in 2017, especially recently with my injury, he meant the world.
"Although I'll be sidelined for the first part of the season while I keep grafting through my rehabilitation, I'll be working closely with the coaching team and supporting the boys in any way I can.
"I love this club and I'm determined to get back out there and make a difference later in the season."
Manager Graham Drury felt having Burgess within the Stamford camp while working towards full fitness would benefit everyone.
He said: "Burge is working so hard to get back fit after his knee operation and doing everything in his power to make sure it's ready to start again.
"He won't be fit for a while but he's now joined in with the coaching side.
"I feel having him around the group is massive for me because he's a leader that wants the very best for the club."
Defender Charlie Marzano will also be returning to the Daniels after getting back to fitness towards the end of last season while Stamford have received a double attacking boost.
Tobias Liversidge has pledged his future to the club after an impressing maiden campaign last season along with the experienced Lee Shaw.
Liversidge joined the Daniels from then-United Counties League side Lincoln United and adapted well to the move up in class.
Boss Drury said: "Tobias made the step up from five to three look easy and I am very pleased he's decided to re-sign.
"Tobias wants to add more goals and assists to his game this season so I am excited to see him achieve it.
"Lee has been with us for a couple of seasons and his work-rate for the team sets everyone else off.
"He will be more determined than ever this season to get his numbers up in goals and assists to match his first season with us."
Striker Richard Gregory has departed the Daniels after an injury-hit campaign following his arrival from Walsall Wood.
Drury explained: "Gregs couldn't get a good run last season with the injuries and, with the chance of playing closer to home, it's something we both agreed on.
"I wish him all the very best because he's a top player and top lad."
