Burghley Park Cricket Club to host Cricket Week with games daily from Monday to Friday plus the popular Evening 6’s tournament




The highly successful Burghley Park Cricket Week returns from Monday, including the popular Evening 6’s tournament.

Always a highlight on the sporting and social calendar, the week promises to be full of good entertainment and excellent cricket.

Day games start at 10.30am (11am on Friday) with play due to conclude at approximately 5.30pm.

Free Foresters provide the opposition on Monday, I Zingari are playing on Tuesday and Burghley will take on Runs4Research XI on Wednesday. The following day sees West Norfolk make the trip and the week concludes on Friday when Burghley face the MCC.

Day games are traditional timed matches and the pavilion bar will be open for drinks throughout.

Games start at 6.15pm, 7pm and 7.45pm each evening. Last year’s winners, Oundle, get the Evening 6’s under way on Monday when they take on Whittlesey followed by Uffington v Oakham and Newborough v Nassington.

On Tuesday, Market Overton v Stamford is first up, followed by Barnack v Castor and Uppingham v Ketton Sports.

On Wednesday, Bourne face Peterborough Town with Burghley Park meeting Ufford followed by the first quarter-final.

The three remaining quarter-final matches take place on Thursday with the semi-finals and the final providing the action on Friday, followed by DB5 live in the marquee.

There are food options throughout the week with Grasmere, Amo La Pizza and Eat Yer Fajita, baked goods from Crumbs Cakes plus hot drinks from Grounded Coffee Company. The club also have their well-regarded beer festival operated by Nene Valley and Adnams including a special one-off collab brew between Bakers Dozen and Nene Valley fittingly called 'Soul Limbo'.

There is no entry charge during the week but spectators are asked not to bring their own alcoholic drinks and please follow the car parking stewards’ directions accordingly.

The club operates a Challenge 25 policy so expect to be asked for ID, a raffle will take place each evening through the week and spectators should also note that Burghley Park is a contactless-only venue with no cash on site.
