Stamford AFC are beaten by Redditch United in the Southern League Premier Division Central
Stamford were denied a point at Redditch United on Saturday as they conceded a goal deep into injury-time.
Alex Cameron struck in the fifth minute of stoppage to earn a 2-1 win for the hosts in the Southern League Premier Division Central clash.
Jack Duffy had earlier given the Daniels a first half lead which was cancelled out by George Atwal's equaliser after the break.
Stamford manager Graham Drury had made one change from the defeat against AFC Telford United with Tobias Liversidge starting in place of Tendai Chitiza.
Redditch had parted company with manager Tim Flowers ahead of the game with former boss Matt Clarke returning the Reds' helm.
The home side started brightly and a long ball from goalkeeper Callum Smith found Johnny Johnston and he held off George Hobbins to get a shot away but it was blocked by Tom Jackson at the expense of a corner.
Stamford then took the lead after just four minutes when Smith missed a clearance and this let Duffy in to score into an empty net.
The Daniels then almost grabbed a second when Lee Shaw crossed from the left and he found Richard Gregory, but his header was brilliantly pushed away by Smith in the home goal.
Smith came to Redditch's rescue again when Shaw set up Gregory again, but the keeper was able to push away from danger.
Redditch came close to equalising when good build up play found Johnston on the edge of the box and his shot went just wide of the post.
Stamford had another great chance to double their lead after the break when a cross from captain Rob Morgan on the right found Duffy unmarked in the penalty area and the Daniels frontman planted his header towards goal but Smith again denied Stamford with a super save.
Redditch got themselves level on 57 minutes when a rushed clearance found Atwal on the edge of the area and he fired the ball through a crowd of players and into the far corner of the net.
The home side were now on the up and Johnston fired a shot which was saved by Jackson.
Stamford were reduced to 10 men midway through the second half when Hobbins was sent off after collecting his second caution of the game.
Redditch had another chance to take the lead when Marvellous Onabirekhanlen fired a shot from the edge of the area but Jackson was able to push away from danger.
Atwal then fired a free kick from the edge of the area but Jackson was able to deny the home side again.
Just when the game looked likely to end in a draw, the home side got a winner.
The ball was played from right to left and then Sam Fitzgerald crossed to find Cameron who planted his header past Jackson.
The defeat drops the Daniels down to sixth spot and outside the play-off places. They travel to Lowestoft on Saturday.
