Jack Jones, Ben Chisholm and George Cox will captain Stamford Rugby Club this season.
Stamford Rugby Club have appointed a leadership trio of captains as they embark on a new season this weekend.
Jack Jones, who has led the purple, black and whites for the two seasons, will be joined by Ben Chisholm and George Cox as co-captains for the new campaign.
It is an initiative brought in to support the coaching team with Stamford opening their Counties 1 Midlands East (South) season on Saturday with a home match against Bugbrooke at Hambleton Road.
Director of rugby Matt Albinson explained: "We have a senior squad of nearly 50 players for the coming season and with that comes the need for an increased capacity in the leadership of the players and the links back to the coaching team.
"All three of the lads are well-respected across the group.
"Jack has been there and done it and brought silverware home last year.
"Ben is probably our most consistent performer and his messaging is clear and to the point, which helps in pressure situations.
"George, with his player-coach role, was adding captaincy value last season when fit and playing, so it was an easy decision to formalise him as one of the guys to lead the show."
Stamford finished in third place last season under Jones' captaincy and just missed out on promotion behind Daventry and Market Bosworth.
He commented: "It's an honour to be selected as co-captain alongside two great players and leaders again this year.
"After last year's success, and a great pre-season, I can't wait to get going with the added support of GC and Chis to really go and see what this squad of boys can achieve."
Cox returned to the club last season in a player-coaching role after starting his career with Stamford as a junior before progressing up the ranks and joining Nottingham.
He commented: "Being asked to captain this side is a huge honour and something I hadn't really considered before but it will be a privilege to lead the boys with Jack and Ben.
"With the squad we have been building over last season and this pre-season, it should be a very easy job.
"I just hope I'm able to take to the pitch sooner rather than later because I'm very excited as to where we can go this season with both the squad and atmosphere that we are building around the club."
Chisholm was an integral part of the Stamford squad which secured their highest league finish for more than 25 years last season and also lifted the Lincolnshire County Cup.
He commented: "It's a great honour to be selected as co-captain for the boys this season in what promises to be an exciting year on and off the pitch.
"This role is a testament to the hard work and dedication of a great group and I feel very privileged to step up into such a role.
"I'm very excited to lead alongside GC and JJ and look forward to achieving great things together this season."
Stamford have recorded back-to-back wins in pre-season with a 24-19 victory over Peterborough being followed by a 41-7 success against West Norfolk.
They did a league double over Saturday's opening day opponents Bugbrooke last season with a 7-12 away success being followed by a 22-17 home victory.
They will again face rivals Bourne - who start their campaign with a trip to Stockwood Park on Saturday - in the same league this season.
Oakham have been relegated to Counties 2 Midlands East (South) for the new campaign and they start with a home match against Brackley.
Deepings face an away trip to Sileby Town on Saturday in their first match of the Counties 3 Midlands East (South) season while Stamford College Old Boys visit Northampton Mens Own.
