Leicestershire Cricket League round-up
A terrific innings from Rob Taylor helped Oakham complete a hat-trick of successive wins in the top flight of the Leicestershire League on Saturday.
Taylor thumped 150 not out as Oakham defeated Langtons by 48 runs in a high-scoring Premier Division clash.
He smashed 13 fours and five sixes in his 117-ball innings as Oakham racked up 333-7 from their 50 overs.
Seb Smith also scored 60 while Steve Flowers added 46 and Will Begy made 38 in a series of strong partnerships with Taylor.
Shaun Morris then reduced the Langtons reply to 40-3 in a strong opening spell while Taylor capped an awesome all-round performance by taking 3-39 from his 10 overs.
Morris went on to finish with 4-53 while Ed Siddle also struck twice as Langtons were bowled out for 285 in reply.
Uppingham Town are also on a strong run of form in Division One as they recorded a fifth successive victory after a 79-run win over Ibstock.
Danny Dumford top-scored with 61 while James Cross (31), Charlie Cox (29) and Johnny Kay (28no) added some valuable runs lower down the order as Town closed their 45 overs on 214-9.
Ibstock were then bowled out for 135 in reply as Dumford, Toby Rees, Mark Cox and Charlie Cox all claimed two wickets each.
Oakham 2nds need to find their first team's winning groove if they are to avoid relegation from Division Four East after losing by six wickets against Electricity Sports.
Shyam Lakhani scored a half-century while Max Robertson made 35 as Oakham were bowled out for 195 - a total that their visitors passed inside 27 overs.
Uppingham 2nds maintained their grip on top spot in Division Six East with an emphatic eight wicket away win at Shree Sanatan 3rds.
Ryan Sheehan bowled four maidens in his economical 10-over spell of 3-9 while Freddy Williamson claimed 3-25 as Sanatan were skittled out for 69.
Ickey Singh then struck an unbeaten 33 to lead Uppingham home inside 16 overs.
Market Overton remain in the bottom two after losing by 63 runs at Blaby who made 188-4 after electing to bat first.
Marko were bowled out for 125 in reply with Nathan Adams top-scoring after making 39.
Wakerley and Barrowden went down by five wickets in their home Division Seven East match with Spa.
Nathan Hall hit 47 as Wakerley were bowled out for 158 with Spa passing the target inside 30 overs despite Pete Vernon taking 3-19.
A superb six-wicket haul from Thomas Parry was the highlight of Oakham 3rds' defeat to Leicester Foxes in Division Eight East.
Parry picked up 6-24 from his 10-over spell as the Foxes were bowled out for 140 but Oakham could only manage 97 in reply with Graeme North making 27.
Uppingham 3rds lost a high-scoring contest with Rothley Park 4ths in Division Nine East.
Heath Broughton blasted 15 boundaries as he made exactly 100 while Dan Snaith struck 42 in Town's 255-6 from 40 overs.
However, that target was passed with more than six overs to spare as Matthew Thompson plundered 17 fours and a six to lead Rothley's run chase with his 102.
Market Overton 2nds made a healthy 252-5 in their home match with Great Glen who triumphed by five wickets.
James Culy top-scored with 63 for Marko while Rahul Acharya added 53 with Mark Robinson and Alex Pearce-Smith making 36 and 34 respectively.
Great Glen were set a revised target of 218 from 33 overs for their reply and they secured the win with three balls to spare despite Chris Collings taking three wickets for Marko.
