Ketton Panthers Triathlon Club have started their East Midlands series campaign
More than 30 young triathletes from Ketton Panthers have started their East Midlands series campaign.
They have been at Darley Moor race circuit just outside Ashbourne in Derbyshire and Uppingham School Sports Centre on two consecutive weekends.
The Panthers were very well represented in each of the age categories and there were several top 10 finishes for the club across all age ranges.
Several members were also competing in their first events alongside seasoned members.
The first event at Darley Moor was a duathlon with run, bike, run legs.
There were podium finishes in the youngest Tristart category for Jack Dawson (third, open) and Tabitha Goddard (first, female) with a top 10 finish for Larissa Groom (sixth, female).
Panthers were well represented in the Tristar One age group with top 10 finishes for Rory Falconer (fourth), Alex Watson (fifth) and Daniel Goddard (10th).
Also racing were Edith Saker, Marcus Barlow, Sofia Williams, Eliza Groom and Lily Raitt.
In Tristart Two, Ophelia Goodale opened her account with victory in the female category.
Strong transition sections saw good results for Benjamin Goddard, Henry Raitt, Emmett Saker, Erik Klitovchenko and Astrid Arrichiello, several of whom were racing up an age group for the first time.
Older athletes were also well represented with Sophie Alliston finishing second in Tristar Three female category, also racing were Jasper Neal, Edith Kaberry and Jack Watson.
The oldest athletes on the day raced in the youth open group with a strong second place finish for Aubery Elmer and a top 10 spot for Ben Alliston (sixth).
Next for the Panthers was the Uppingham School Aquathlon.
The youngest club members performed very well with Jack Dawson and Tabitha Goddard winning their respective TriStart races.
Larissa Groom was also on the TriStart podium (third, female).
In the TriStar One open, Rory Falconer was victorious with four other Panthers making the top ten, Alex Watson (third), Daniel Goddard (fourth), Raferty Bates (10th).
TriStar One female top 10 finishers were Eliza Groom (sixth), Charlotte Smith (seventh) and Eleanor Smith (10th).
Strong performances from Sofia Williams, Lily Raitt, Matilda Harper and Edith Saker saw other Panthers finish in the top 20.
In Tristart Two, Ophelia Goodale and Joe Cripps won their respective races.
In the open category, Benjamin Goddard (fifth), Emmett Saker, Henry Raitt, Freddie Latter and Alex Heard were well placed.
Astrid Arrichiello (fifth), Gracie Dawson (sixth) and Eleni Williams (ninth) finished in the top 10 and Scarlett Streather was 13th.
There was another podium in the TriStar Three female category for Sophie Alliston (second).
In TriStart Three, Edith Kaberry (fourth), Jasper Neal (sixth) and Levi King (13th) put in strong early season performances.
In the youth female category, Phoebe Goodale was victorious and in open Ben Alliston (third) podiumed with Aubery Elmer finishing fifth.
Weekly training for the season has resumed at Ketton Sports and Social Club on Friday evenings.
