Bourne Abbots Petanque Club take victory at Vine pub in Coates




Kim Miles and Mike Stocks of Bourne Abbots Petanque Club were worthy winners of the Vine pub annual competition at Coates, near Whittlesey.

The competition was played immediately after the Service of Remembrance that was attended by more than 150 people. In all, 11 teams entered, donating £110 towards the pub Poppy Appeal.

All teams played four games with Bourne Abbots doubles team coming out on top with three wins for +11 points.

Prizes for the top three teams were kindly donated by June Bailey and Kris Lunn who run The Vine pub and are great supporters of petanque, hosting games every Tuesday evening.

Bourne Abbots Club are currently lying in top position after 12 games in the Winter League.
