August bank holiday weekend brings Rutland Beer Festival to The Grainstore Brewery, Oakham





A beer festival with live music will be taking place over the bank holiday weekend.

The 24th Rutland Beer Festival at The Grainstore Brewery, next to Oakham Railway Station, starts at 5pm today (Thursday, August 22) with more than 70 real ales available and a selection of ciders.

The festival runs until midnight tonight, and will then be open on Friday from 11am until 1am, on Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 1am, and from 9am until 11pm on Monday.

Admission is free although those wanting a Rutland Beer Festival glass to keep can pay £5 - with a full refund available for those returning glasses during the festival.

Grasmere Farm in Deeping St James will supply pork and Ten Fifty ale sausages for the barbecue, and breakfast will also be served on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Live music will be played from 8.30pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Train services to Oakham from Stamford are hourly, except on Sunday mornings, and the last train leaves Oakham at 9.40pm.
