Lincolnshire Agricultural Society announces brand-new Chelsea-style Garden Show attraction for this year’s Lincolnshire Show

A historic agricultural show which welcomes tens of thousands to the county each year has announced a new attraction.

Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS), which organises the Lincolnshire Show, say it is planning an event ‘bigger and better than ever before’ as it brings the first-ever Chelsea-style Garden Show to its 139th annual showground event on June 19 and 20.

Some of the best gardeners from the county will have the chance to show off their green thumbs as they compete to display the best plot.

Charlotte Powell, chief executive of the LAS said: “I am thrilled to see the return of our iconic Lincolnshire Show for its 139th Show. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Spread out across more than 200 acres at the Lincolnshire Showground, just four miles from Lincoln city centre, the event aims to educate the community about food, farming and the countryside while remaining true to its roots and focusing on farming and country life.

Last year, 58,000 people attended alongside 2,500 animals and 500 traders and exhibitors.

”Our Countryside area will feature some new additional entertainment, ensuring a memorable day out for everyone, and we may have some more surprises in store,” Charlotte added.

As well as the new Garden Show, the main ring promises stunt displays, livestock performances and a Shetland Grand National.

Lincolnshire Kitchen will return with live cookery demonstrations and opportunities to taste local produce, and The Horticultural Zone, where the new Garden Show will be located, will also see floristry displays and the return of The Potting Shed which premiered last year.
