Grantham flute player Carla Rees to perform alongside International Flute Workshop in free concerts




Free flute concerts will be held in the county.

The International Flute Workshop is holding three free concerts in Lincolnshire, including Friday, May 17, at the Bailgate Methodist Church in Lincoln at 7pm, Saturday, May 18, at Harlaxton Manor at 7.30pm and Sunday, May 19, also at Harlaxton Manor at 6pm.

The faculty brings together flute players from the USA, Italy, Brazil and also the UK, including Carla Rees from Grantham.

Joining Carla will also be festival director Danilo Mezzadri, Carlos Feller, Italian virtuoso Fabio Angelo Colajanni and the Image Flute Quartet, who are champions of music by women composers.

Each night will see a different variety of music performed:

• May 17 - the International Flute Faculty Recital

• May 18 - the International Flute Faculty and participants will perform British and Italian music

• May 19 - the faculty and participants will perform chamber music.

During the events, the group will work with students on both solo and ensemble repertoire, and this will be followed by the concerts in the evening.
