Nene Valley Rock Festival is coming to Grimsthorpe Castle near Bourne and you could win tickets
A four-day rock festival is lining up a host of bands and other entertainment at its new venue and you could be there.
The Nene Valley Rock Festival will take place at Grimsthorpe Castle from September 5 to 8. It initially launched last year at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough.
We have teamed up with the organisers to offer six lucky LincsOnline readers a
family pass each, admitting two adults and two children entrance to the festival for a day of their choice (subject to availability). One of those winners will then be selected to win a four-day ticket.
Organisers hope to make Grimsthorpe a permanent location for the event, which offers plenty of live classic rock, prog rock and blues.
Bands include Renegade, fronted by former Thin Lizzy keyboard player Darren Wharton who will be playing all the classic music of Thin Lizzy, Hand Of Dimes led by Skin vocalist Nev Macdonald, veteran prog band Caravan, blues from Irish stars Crow Black Chicken playing their only remaining UK gig this year, plus the last ever UK show by British legends Nektar.
They’ll be joined by over 50 other bands, including local rock stars Austin Gold, and all will be playing inside marquees to ensure that, whatever the weather, everyone can have a friendly, relaxed time.
Tickets are limited to 1,000 to ensure the festival has an intimate vibe and everyone can see and hear the bands performing.
Tony Castle, one of the event directors, said: “We’re run as a not-for-profit event and everyone involved in the organisation works on an entirely unpaid basis – the festival is run solely for the fans, the music and the bands.”
The organisers are inviting traders to get in touch to sell clothing, jewellery and other non-food products for festival-goers.
