SCARLETT YEAR 10

I feel very supported at school as people always care. Whether it’s about your future or mental health, there is always someone to talk to. I really like the many clubs you can get involved with - there are so many opportunities such as Greenpower, F1 in Schools, and the school musical. One of my favourite memories was singing at the Royal Albert Hall. It was such a great day and made me closer to my now best friend. I love English as we study such a range of texts and are always encouraged to write our own pieces. I hope to become a journalist; I joined the Young Journalist Academy and that has inspired me to take Journalism further.

MACEY YEAR 11

I am so grateful to be part of our school community because we're lucky enough to have such an amazing student support team that we can access in school. They work hard to ensure we are safe at all times. We also have loads of opportunities for new experiences outside of school such as school trips; I was fortunate enough to go on the ski trip and had the time of my life! It was one of the best moments of my school life, so far.

EWAN YEAR 12

My time at BHS has been one of the best starts to the school year I have had, with people who want to learn and better themselves. I have gained some new friends since I got to the school, we have developed a strong, close knit group of people. We all help support one another and can rely on teachers when in need.

FEARNE YEAR 13

My name is Fearne and I am head student at Boston High School. I have been at Boston High School since year 7 and I have really enjoyed my time here. I have had the opportunity to be involved in many beyond the classroom activities, both related to sports and music, as well as academic-based. Thanks to the careers education I have received, I feel prepared to make my post-18 options and I will value everything I've learnt at Boston High School throughout my future career.

Boston High School was opened on January 19th 1921 at Allan House on Carlton Road. The original school had 112 girls on roll, and was led by the headmistress, Miss Knipe supported by 7 other members of staff.

1938 READ MORE

Boston High School moved to its current location, on Spilsby Road, during the autumn term of 1938. The school was officially opened during 1939, by Alderman Kitwood – who would later have a house named after him. There were three open days held for parents in 1939, the first being in June.

2013 READ MORE

On 1 January 2013, Boston High School became a converter academy, under the leadership of the then headteacher, Dr Jason Howard. No changes were made to the school uniform and the school retained its existing name.

2014 READ MORE

Mr A J Fulbrook B.E.d. (Hons) M.Sc NPQH joined Boston High School as Headteacher in 2014.

Miss Webb, the longest serving headteacher of Boston High School, sadly passed away on 20th August 2023. She will be sadly missed and, we have marked her legacy with the creation of a memorial garden. “Miss Webb remained a friend to our school long after retirement. When she last visited it was a privilege to welcome her back and to spend time with her. My lasting memories will be of a lady who truly dedicated her professional career to the service of young people. Suffice to say, her legacy lives on.” - Mr Fulbrook
