Up to 25 jobs could be created after pizza takeaway plans passed for Kirton
Pizza is on the menu and up to 25 jobs could be created after plans for a hot food takeaway have been passed.
Applicant Jonathan Pedley has been successful with his bid to set up the business in a vacant unit on Kirton’s Avalon Business Park.
Plans submitted for three tables and seating for up to 10 people, plus a service counter, office, store, cold room, toilets and washing up area have been given the thumbs up.
“The proposal is considered to be in accordance with the development plan as a whole and would not have a detrimental impact on the delivery of the prestige employment site, residential amenity or character of the area,” the Boston Borough Council planning officer report said.
Plans also include the installation of extract and ventilation equipment, a new shopfront and enclosure for bin/moped storage.

The unit will also come with four parking spaces and a loading bay.
“It is intended that the application site will be occupied as a pizza takeaway,” the design and access statement submitted by agent Pegasus Group said.
“The conversion will provide a 130 m2 takeaway which will be arranged with a customer waiting/seating area at the front of the premises with kitchen occupying the central part of the unit.
“A cold room and staff welfare facilities will be provided at the rear of the site.
“A new shopfront is to be installed which will include the existing shuttered opening being in-filled and clad to match the rest of the building, above an aluminium glazed shopfront window.

The takeaway is proposed to open from 11am to 11pm seven days a week.
The design and access statement added the proposal would bring employment opportunities.
“A pizza takeaway of the size proposed will generate approximately 25 part-time and full-time positions at the site,” it added.
