Police granted closure orders for three Boston store
Police have vowed to disrupt organised criminal gangs and illicit supply chains after being granted a court order to shut three shops.
No-one is allowed to enter Boston Food Store, Sky Store and Bode premises for three months as a result of the closure orders which were granted by the town’s magistrates on Tuesday (February 25).
Boston Neighbourhood Policing Team were granted the order after presenting evidence gained from police and Trading Standards’ intelligence-gathering activity.
A police statement said: “Where there is any doubt whether criminal activity will continue, we will have no hesitation in applying for closure extensions.
“Our Lincolnshire County Council Trading Standards partners are currently working with landlords to provide a long-term solution once closure orders expire. Landlords who receive rent payments derived from criminal activity may also be the subject of investigation.
“We will continue to share intelligence between the multiple agencies, conducting joint operations to disrupt illicit supply chains and associated criminality driven by highly organised criminal gangs.
“We ask that should anyone see the premises being entered, to call the police, as anyone connected to the business who enters the premises will be in contravention of the closure order and will be liable to a fine or imprisonment or both.
The closure orders for Sky Store and Bode premises, both in High Street, and the Red Lion Street site of Boston Food Store expire on May 24, at 11.59pm.
