A17 closed for 90 minutes following two-vehicle collision

A busy road was closed this morning following a two-vehicle collision.

The incident happened on the A17 at Fosdyke, on the junction with Pitcher Row Lane, with the road shut for an hour-and-a-half.

Eyewitnesses reported long delays for motorists attempting to reach the nearby Sutterton roundabout, which links the A17 with the A16.

The A17 has come under scrutiny recently after a man in his 80s died following a crash at Gedney and a lorry and car were involved in a crash at Holbeach just days apart.

This week the Lincs Road Safety Partnership revealed there had been 180 collisions and nine deaths on the A17 between Swineshead and Sutton Bridge over the past six years.
