William Lovell Academy near Boston closed today due to ‘tragic incident’ involving a parent
A school has closed today (Wednesday) following a ‘tragic incident’ involving a parent.
The headteacher of William Lovell Church of England Academy, in Stickney, near Boston, Sam McCormick, has written to parents overnight to make the announcement about the difficult decision.
“It is with great sadness that I find myself writing to you again today,” he said.
“The events this week have been unprecedented, and the effect on the whole school community is profound.
“I am sure you will join me in keeping the students, staff, and all those in the wider William Lovell family in your prayers.
“If there are any students who may require pastoral or spiritual support, the Main Hall and Prayer Room will be available to those in need.”
He said the school would reopen on Thursday as normal.
Lincolnshire Police have been contacted but referred the matter to other emergency services.
A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 3.27pm on Tuesday, February 11, to the William Lovell Academy in Stickney.
“We sent two paramedics in solo response cars, LIVES emergency responders and an ambulance.”
Greater Lincolnshire Coroners Service said it is not dealing with the matter.
