Boston seven-year-old Lexie Beament releases her first book The Unicorn Who Lost Her Horn after being inspired by mum and author Caroline.

A seven-year-old girl is spreading the message of self-belief with the release of her new children’s book.

Lexie Beament, from Boston, says she was inspired by her mum Caroline, who is also an author, when writing The Unicorn Who Lost Her Horn — a story about the mythical creature going on the hunt for answers, meeting friends who remind her of her power within along her way.

Lexie says her friends are ‘really happy and excited for her’ and her school even read it out for the other pupils to listen to.

“I am really proud of Lexie,” said Caroline.

“She is even talking about writing sequels.”

Lexie says she enjoyed writing her debut story and has received a lot of support from the Boston community since it was published on January 30.

The book is available to buy at Waterstones here as well as WHSmith, Amazon and Blackwells for £5.99.
