Bourne healthcare group Pulse Practice opens new home in Manning Road
A long-standing town healthcare group has a new home – in a former butchers shop.
Having rented premises in West Street for 10 years, Bourne-based Pulse Practice bought and refurbished a unit in Manning Road.
Practice owner Jo Sunner is a familiar face in Bourne, having worked in the town for more than three decades, and also as a member and former president of the town Rotary Club.
Jo spent 20 years at the Hereward Medical Centre and the Fitzwilliam Hospital, in Peterborough, before setting up Bourne Osteopath Clinic on West Street. It evolved into the multi-disciplinary Pulse Practice, working in osteopathy, foot health and ear microsuction.
He has invested £200,000 in buying the property – previously a hair salon and butchers – and extensive refurbishments.
“What we always wanted to do was have alterations made which suited us as practitioners and this property came up for sale,” Jo said.
“We also wanted to have a large enough space in the building to hold training courses for members of the public and courses for medical people.”
As well as a bespoke centre for treatments, Pulse Practice – which counts former world’s strongest man Geoff Capes and former world darts champion Martin Adams among its clients - now has its own on-site parking for patients.
“It gives us more capacity for patients, has a better waiting area and more facilities,” Jo added.
“It’s spacious which is important as some patients have zimmer frames or wheelchairs.”
