Bourne Christmas Market and lights switch-on attracts a record crowd

A fireworks finale rounded off a day of Christmas cheer at Bourne’s market and lights switch-on.

Record numbers of people made the journey into town on Saturday (December 2) to enjoy the range of traditional festive fun.

Market stalls lined the streets selling everything from food and crafts to Christmas gifts while other traders set up in The Old Town Hall, Bourne Corn Exchange and Wake House, offering shoppers a chance to escape the winter weather.

There was also plenty of entertainment on the main stage with performances by Apollo Dance, South Kesteven Acting and Musical Players, The Sonics, LDC Dance, Bourne Tuneless Choir, Bourne Super Choir, Lauren Porter and Jam Room.

Claire Saberton from the Bourne Events Team said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Bourne Town Council, the Bourne Events team, all our sponsors, the stage performers and the local residents for making the day such a success.”
