Bourne Leisure Centre swimming pool hours to be reduced during the summer holidays

Swimming pool opening hours are being reduced during the summer holidays while essential roof repairs are carried out.

Bourne Leisure Centre’s pool will be partially closed on weekdays between August 12 and September 4.

The gym, studio and sports hall will remain open as usual.

Abbey High Fliers Trampoline Club has moved out of Spalding and now holds some of its sessions at Bourne Leisure Centre.

A spokesperson for LeisureSK said for safety reasons the work has to be carried out while Bourne Academy, which encompasses the centre, is closed.

They added: “We apologise for any inconvenience during this summer holiday period, but this is essential work to repair roof coverings and install new roof lights.

“The closure periods are to protect the public while work is carried out and we look forward to opening all our facilities again when work is complete.”

The pool will be closed to the public between 8am and 3.30pm on weekdays between August 12 and 16, August 19 and 23, August 27 and 30, and September 2 and 4.

On the affected dates it will be open from 6-8am and from 4pm. Weekend opening hours are not affected.

During the closure customers will be able to use Stamford Leisure Pool and the Grantham Meres Leisure Centre. Children whose swimming lessons are affected have been offered alternative sessions in Stamford and customers who cannot travel to the other centres have been given the option to suspend their membership for a month.

Extra studio classes have been added to the schedule for those missing out on aquafit sessions.
