South Street car park in Bourne to close for repairs

A town centre car park is to close for four days for repairs.

Resurfacing and relining of spaces will be carried out at the South Street car park in Bourne from Sunday, June 15, at 5pm until Thursday, June 19, when it will be open as usual.

During this period there will be no public parking.

Alternatives nearby include the South Kesteven District Council-operated Burghley Street Car Park, or the privately operated parking next to Marks and Spencer which also serves the SKDC Community Access Point.

Businesses with a right of access will be unaffected.

Cabinet member for property, Coun Richard Cleaver (Ind - Stamford St John’s) said: “We will aim to reopen the car park at the earliest opportunity to ensure minimum disruption to the public.

“During all the work, access will only be allowed for business owners/staff for premises on West Street that already have a right of access to their own parking areas at the rear of their premises.”
