Failing sections of roads in Frognall will be rebuilt




‘Failing sections’ of two village roads are going to be rebuilt during a two week closure.

Lincolnshire County Council has announced plans to improve Hards Lane and Custom Road in Frognall.

Work will be taking place from the Hards Lane/B1525 Spalding Road junction to the industrial estate access on Custom Road. The project will start on Monday, April 21.

Jonathan Evans, Head of Highways Client, said: “As part of our ongoing programme of road reconstruction works for 2025, we’ll be completely rebuilding a failing sections of Hards Lane and Custom Road in Frognall.

“Doing this will take up to two weeks to complete, with up to 2,500 tonnes of road building materials set to be used.

“We’ll also be taking the opportunity to carry out some kerbing and verge topsoiling works while on-site, in addition to fully rebuilding the main industrial estate entrance.”

The roads will be closed from 7.30am to 5pm while the work is taking place.

Bosses say there will be some weekend working but dates will be posted on road signs closer to the time.

The diversion route is via Custom Road,Stowgate Road, B1166 Eastgate ,B1166 Church Street, B1166 Bridge Street, B1525 Horsegate, B1525 Spalding Road, and vice versa

Jonathan added: “We'll do everything we can to keep disruption down during the works, including maintaining access for residents and emergency vehicles during our working hours.

“In the meantime, I want to thank anyone affected by these works in advance for their patience.”
