80 homes approved for land next to the A15 and Peterborough Road in Market Deeping




Plans to build 80 new homes on an edge-of-town site have been approved.

The Rathbone Trust has secured planning permission to develop agricultural land between the A15 and Peterborough Road in Market Deeping.

In its application to South Kesteven District Council the trust claimed the development will bring numerous benefits including affordable homes, a public open space, play equipment and “greater vitality” to the town through the population increase.

The plot measures 6.67 hectares - about the size of nine football pitches - and is accessed from the B1524 Peterborough Road.

South Kesteven District Council’s draft local plan estimates that 14,020 new homes must be built in the district by 2041 – the equivalent of 701 each year.
