Pupils at The Deepings School hold party for Age Concern group
Pupils hosted an Age Concern group for an afternoon tea party.
Year 11 Food Technology pupils at The Deepings School rustled up cakes and bakes for the event.
Year 8 and Year 13 pupils ran a raffle and a choir performed a medley of festive songs.
The school also ran a 12 days of Christmas kindness initiative, with groceries and snacks collected for the local food bank, and pupils encouraged to donate an item.
The school’s sixth formers collected the donations and packaged them to be shared with recipients over Christmas.
Headteacher Kirstie Johnson said: “The Age Concern tea was a great success and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event.
“It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces from the community and to hear them speak so well of our pupils.
“We also hope that the provisions we have collected for members of our local community, who may be struggling this Christmas, will be well received.
“One of our school values is kindness and so we were very pleased to be able to spread some Christmas cheer and goodwill. Thanks to all our staff, students and families for their generosity in supporting us with these initiatives.”
