William Hildyard Primary and Nursery School in Market Deeping is rated good by Ofsted
A school which gives pupils every opportunity to ‘let their light shine’ has retained its good rating from Ofsted.
William Hildyard Primary and Nursery School in Market Deeping was found to have an ambitious curriculum and a strong focus on the values of respect, courage and forgiveness.
Lead inspector Matthew Fearns-Davies spent two days at the school in Godsey Lane last month before publishing his report.
He said: “The school has high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and they live up to these expectations. During social times, there is a harmonious atmosphere.”
The school was also praised for its work in developing leadership skills through roles such as playtime leaders, sports ambassadors, well-being ambassadors and members of the worship council.
To improve further, staff have been asked to set clear targets for children with special educational needs or disabilities to help them take small steps towards reaching their potential.
Executive headteacher Laura Martin, who took charge of the school in September 2023, said: “We are really proud to have maintained our good grading following our Ofsted inspection earlier this term at William Hildyard C of E Primary and Nursery School.
“The inspection process acknowledged the significant changes to leadership this academic year and the progress made in a relatively short space of time since last September.
“The report highlights many strengths of the school including the ambitious curriculum, the range of activities on offer to broaden the personal development of the children and how well embedded our school vision, values and school rules are.
“The staff and pupils have worked incredibly hard this year and should feel proud of their accomplishments.”
It is affiliated with St George’s Primary School in Stamford which has also retained a good Ofsted rating this year.
