Mohsen Ojja to step down as CEO of Anthem Schools Trust, which oversees Deepings School, Lincoln Carlton Academy and Boston West Academy
The CEO of a trust overseeing several schools in Lincolnshire is stepping down next year.
Mohsen Ojja, the CEO of Anthem Schools Trust, will leave his role in April to take up an opportunity overseas.
The trust operates schools such as The Deepings School, Lincoln Carlton Academy, and Boston West Academy.
David Moran, current vice chair of the Anthem Board of Trustees and Mohsen's mentor, will be taking over as interim CEO until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Mr Oija, who joined the trust in January 2023, said: “It has been a great privilege to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team of professionals across our schools, on the central team and our board of trustees.
"I am so incredibly proud of what we have achieved as a team so far, and I have absolute confidence that given the impressive progress that has already been made, that Anthem will go from strength to strength.
“David is exceptionally well suited to this role and I can think of no one better qualified to continue the trajectory we have established. He has a deep understanding of the trust’s values and strategic priorities and his leadership will ensure that our current initiatives continue smoothly, with no disruption to the everyday learning experiences and opportunities we offer our students and staff.
“I am deeply grateful for my time at Anthem. The trust is in a strong and secure position to enter this next chapter, and I have no doubt that Anthem will thrive under David’s leadership and beyond.”
Current vice chair Mr Moran added: “I am honoured to step in as interim CEO at Anthem, where Mohsen’s accomplishments have set an inspiring standard.
"I look forward to working closely with all our schools, staff, and families to ensure consistency and continuity across all our projects, as well as to drive forward the exceptional progress already underway.”
At the start of October, teachers and support staff at The Deepings School held a two-day strike over concerns about pupil behaviour and excessive workloads.
The National Education Union (NEU) stated that staff were "left with no choice" but to take action after receiving no response from management to an offer of further talks aimed at resolving the issues.
At the time, the trust emphasised its commitment to working with the unions.
