Gainsborough cyclist, 57, dies following crash in Treswell
A cyclist has died following a collision at the weekend.
Robert Noble, 57, from Gainsborough, sustained a serious injury following a crash on Sunday (January 28) on the Cottam Road Junction with Rampton Road, in Treswell.
Emergency services arrived at the incident at 9.20am and Mr Noble was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jack Bingley, 25, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision and driving whilst under the influence of alcohol.
Bingley, of Devonshire Road, Retford, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday, January 30) and was released on bail with conditions.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on February 27.
Sergeant Craig Luckett, of Nottinghamshire Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “This was a tragic incident that resulted in a man’s death.
“We have been working hard to understand what happened on Sunday morning and I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect.
“Our investigation will now carry on as we continue to support the victim’s family at this very difficult time.”
