Hundreds of jobs to go at McCain factory near Grantham in May
It has been confirmed that 230 jobs will go at the McCain Foods factory in Easton on May 1.
In November, the food processing firm confirmed it was planning to cut its workforce at the site of its subsidiary PAS Grantham, with 150 employees remaining there.
A spokesman for McCain said yesterday: “We can confirm the proposal has been accepted and will take effect on Friday, May 1, 2020. Production will continue at Grantham with approximately 150 roles remaining on site.”
In an earlier statement, the company said: “We remain committed to our operations in Grantham and the UK and no other McCain sites are included in this proposal.
“The employees at our Grantham plant are loyal and hard-working, and it’s our priority now to ensure that every affected colleague is treated with fairness and respect.”
