Today’s A-level results were dubbed “the icing on the cake”, as Sir William Robertson Academy celebrate another successful year.

Recently being graded as ‘good’ by Ofsted, 70 per cent of year 13 pupils were able to gain a place at their first choice university, with one third of all students achieving grades A* to B in at least two of their subjects.

This included Amy Meagher from Caythorpe, who gained an A* in English Literature, an A in Psychology and a B in English Language and is now going to study Psychology at Loughborough University.

Head of Sixth Form, Seb Mann, reflected on the pupils’ performances, stating: “A level results day has been the icing on the cake of another fantastic year for our Sixth Form.”

This was added to by Head teacher Mark Guest, who claimed: “OFSTED graded our Sixth Form good in June and these results provide further evidence that our Sixth Form continues to go from strength to strength.”
