Update: A1 reopens following three-vehicle crash at Grantham

Tailbacks on the A1 at Grantham have now cleared following a three-vehicle crash this morning (Monday).

Traffic was backed up for several miles on the southbound carriageway following the collision near to Great Ponton just before 7.10am.

The crash involved a black BMW, a blue Nissan Juke and a brown Ford C-Max.

No injuries were reported. Lanes reopened at around 9.30am.

Motorists travelling on the busy road were further affected at around 9.45am when a vehicle broke down on a southbound lane between the A52 and A607 turn-offs.

The lane reopened by 11am.
