All Day Play in Grantham set to close studios and soft play centre but continue with mobile sessions, events and school visits
An activity studio is set to close its permanent premises in Grantham, but will continue with mobile events.
All Day Play, owned by Megan Gilmartin, will close its premises on Chandlers Yard Business Park in Greyfriars after October half term, but Megan insisted that the service would “still very much be around” after this.
She added: “While it will be a sad time to leave this special space we have created, I am super optimistic that this change is for the better and one that will make it more possible for future growth.”
The All Day Play studio opened in December 2021 and expanded into a garden space six months later.
Megan said that the business would now switch to running solely as mobile sessions, events, parties, school enrichments, adding that she had “epic plans” for the next chapter of All Day Play.
She continued: “Going forward with doing mobile events is going to make what we have built more accessible to people further afield and also make the business more scalable for the future.
“One of the biggest comments we get from people who have travelled in from far is “I really wish we had something like this closer to where we live”.
“We are already hard at work conjuring up new pieces of kit to allow us to transform any blank space into “the studio”, which includes all the gear to protect a space and allow children to still get just as stuck in as before!
“We have already booked several venues for our upcoming Christmas parties which I’ll be sharing soon.”
Megan and her team are also set to visit schools for enrichments, which is something she has “been passionate about doing for a while”.
“Without the costs of a permanent space I can now lower the costs of these workshops and bring this into schools rather than them having to come to us,” added Megan.
“We have already booked two upcoming school workshops with this new model, which I’m very excited about.”
As a mother of three young children, Megan explained that the pressures that came with having the permanent premises were “immense”.
She added: “During slow periods the financial burden is heavy and during busy periods the time commitment to making things run smoothly is more than I have been able to handle.”
Reflecting on the decision to close All Day Play’s permanent space, Megan said that it was “sad”, but “ultimately what is right for the business and my family right now”.
She continued: “The community have been so supportive and I’m overwhelmed by all the lovely comments people have made on social media.
“The studio has been a magical place for many including my own little ones and while I’m sad to say goodbye to our wonderful space, I know this change will allow us to cultivate creativity and inspire even more people in the long run.”
Megan said that the team will be “throwing everything we’ve got” at the last week in the studio space, and encouraged families to get booked in.

Megan added: “Thank you to each and every one of you who have come to the studio for your support, without you and your amazing little artists none of the creative magic would’ve been possible.
“I have epic plans for this new chapter of All Day Play. I cannot wait to reveal more to you all when the time is right, I promise it’s not goodbye.”
