After a successful event last year which raised more than £1,000 for charity, the family of a young woman who suffered the still birth of her son will unite again for an evening of music.

In July 2013, Ami Virden, 23, from Great Ponton, lost her son Joseph to stillbirth. Following the tragedy, Ami and her family decided to organise a night of music in Joseph’s memory which raised more than £1,000 for The Lily Mae Foundation, which supports those who have gone through still birth or neonatal death.

Ami said: “More than a hundred people turned up last time. The support was absolutely fantastic.”

Following on from the success of last year’s event, the family has decided to organise another musical concert to raise even more money for charity, whilst keeping Joseph’s memory alive.

Ami and her family will be performing on July 18 at Grantham College Refectory, including her mum and dad Angie and Dave Virden, her brother Lewis and grandad Pat Corcoran.

Ami said: “The event provides a nice memory for us all to share. I hope people join us for an evening of remembrance to help raise money for two worthy causes.”

This year’s event will be raising money for The Cree a Centre (MENCAP) on Aire Road in Grantham. Along with Count the Kicks, a charity which raises awareness in pregnancy to reduce problems.

Doors will open at 7pm and the event will finish at midnight. There will be a licensed bar on the night and hot food available. Along with a raffle containing a number of great prizes including beauty vouchers and champagne.

Tickets for the event are £5 each. Entry for children under 12 is free. For tickets call Angie Virden on 07913 812342.

Donations of raffle prizes are also welcomed to help raise funds on the night.
