Barefoot soldier to arrive in Grantham on epic 700-mile 'Hope for Hasti' mission
An army major will arrive in Grantham tomorrow (Tuesday) as part of an epic 700-mile barefoot walk from Cornwall to Scotland.
Major Chris Brannigan, of Tidworth, is part-way through his epic walk from Land's End in Cornwall to Edinburgh, carrying 25kg, in a bid to fund research into his young daughter’s rare disease.
His eight-year-old daughter Hasti was diagnosed with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) in 2018, which currently has no cure or treatment.

He hopes to raise much-needed funds for gene therapy to change her fate and to give her the future she deserves.
The 40-year-old said: "I know it's madness and, if I'm honest, I'm terrified of failing. It is going to be painful and I already have a knee injury, but I am a dad and I have to fight for my little girl Hasti and all the other forgotten children with this rare disease."
Just under three weeks since Chris started on the mammoth journey, he will arrive in Grantham tomorrow on day 21 of his journey.
