Barkston pupils have a flippin’ good time on Pancake Day
Pupils at Barkston and Syston Primary School celebrated Shrove Tuesday this week by taking part in traditional pancake races.
They were also treated to pancakes in the morning before grabbing their frying pans to see how many times they could flip them.
Sally-Anne Caunter, headteacher at Barkston and Syston, said: “The children also learnt about Lent and how pancakes were made with the ingredients that traditionally Christians did not eat during Lent.”
All the children were also given a booklet challenging them to do something positive to make a difference instead of giving something up.
It sounds like they all had some flippin’ good fun.
