Grantham music school set to open

A new music school is due to open in Grantham next month.

Blue Cat Music School will open at 1 Watergate, in a

corner location previously used as an estate agency.

The school will be run by Alan Osler and Sophie Hoskins, who have relocated from London to launch their new business. Alan, 46, has been running music schools for 15 years, most recently in north London. Sophie, 45, is a former journalist who moved into public relations and communications.

Alan has always wanted to have his own school and the pair both thought it was time to work for themselves. On researching places to settle, they thought Grantham was perfect, offering them a high street location.

The couple plan to offer piano and guitar lessons at first, including classical, and rock and roll. Small groups will also be taught, using headphones, at the business named after their pet Russian Blue cat. They also want to stage competitions and concerts. Alan said: “The same thing that has worked in Enfield will work here.”

The couple are presently seeking local contractors to renovate their large premises, but they hope to open in September.Email bluecatmusicschool@hotmail.com for details.
