Young Grantham Tennis Club brothers raise more than £1,000 for NHS during lockdown
Three young brothers have raised more than £1,000 by taking on a number of tennis challenges during lockdown.
Elijah Killen Smith, 10, and siblings Archie, 8, and Louis, 5, of Bottesford, wanted to show their support for the NHS and came up with the idea of the challenges which they have been filming and loading on to YouTube.
Mum Helen Killen Smith said: “When lockdown began they decided they wanted to do something to raise money for the NHS so they started to take on tennis challenges.
“Elijah my eldest has been putting together the video footage of the challenges as one of his home learning tasks and has learnt so much about how to make an I movie. They have created four videos and so far have taken on 14 challenges and raised over £1,000 for the NHS.”
The boys are raising the money through a JustGiving page.
They said: “We all play tennis and are really missing going down to Grantham Tennis Club to play so we decided to take on some tennis lockdown challenges and raise a bit of money for the NHS at the same time.
“Originally our mum and dad and grandparents had agreed to sponsor us £10 for each challenge we completed. We made a little video during our home learning and since then other family members and friends have sponsored us.
“We have been so happy with the support we have received and since we made our first video we have set up a JustGiving page for the NHS and raised over £1,000 which we can not believe.”
