CQMS Ltd finds original signage of listed building in Grantham while relocating to new premises in Westgate

A business has shared some original signage that it found while relocating to premises in the centre of Grantham.

CQMS Ltd, a health and safety consultancy, is in the process of relocating from its current offices in Wharf Road to the Grade II listed 12 and 13 Westgate.

In order to tidy up the front of the building, managing director Eleanor Eaton said that removing the previous signage has revealed some “beautiful original signage” which is carved into the original façade and covered with glass.

A nostalgia piece in the Journal from earlier this year shows the old Cammacks shop with red signage, which led Eleanor to believing that the original signage has been covered “for some time”.

“The original signage is carved into the wood façade with glass on top and the glass has had years of paint applied on top [including the HH Cox green from yesteryear],” added Eleanor.
