Grantham Canal Society’s first ever craft fair was ‘fantastic’ and raised £1,250
A society held its first ever craft fair over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Visitors, stallholders and volunteers enjoyed the Grantham Canal Society’s first ever Craft Fair on Sunday August 27.
The event hosted 14 local artists, craftworkers and good causes, and welcomed hundreds of visitors.
Nikyla Manners, a volunteer with the GCS, said: “The weather held out, and a fantastic day was had by all!”
Ivy, 8, from Leicester, said that her aunt “hadn’t prepared her for how good it was going to be” and said she was delighted to pick up a scooter and lots of lovely hand-made crafts with her pocket money.
Campion Wood Candles, who had a stall at the event, said they enjoyed themselves and “loved meeting people (and their dogs)” at their stall.
They thanked everyone for “such a well-organised event run by such lovely people”.
Through the purchase of delicious refreshments, bric-a-brac and tombola, supporters raised £1,250.
This will support the society in their work restoring and maintaining the Nottingham to Grantham Canal for the enjoyment of all.
The Three Shires boat crew were also pleased to welcome visitors on board their award-winning cruises. To book your own trip, please visit www.tickettailor.com/events/threeshires
