Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home in Grantham launches new monthly dementia café
A Grantham care home has launched a monthly dementia café to support the relatives and friends of its residents, and the community.
Barchester’s Maple Leaf Care Home in Beacon Lane launched a new monthly dementia café today (Monday).
On the second Monday of each month between 10am and 12.30pm, the dementia café will be open for all to come along and meet others who are supporting friends and family living with dementia, or who think a loved one may have dementia.
It will be a chance to find out about coping strategies, how to get a diagnosis and what support is available from like-minded people.
Tea, coffee and cake will also be available.
Maple Leaf general manager, Kerry Angeloni, said: “We want to help and support relatives, friends and members of our local community who have loved ones who are living with dementia.
“The café will be a great way to relax, make friends and find out information about Alzheimer’s and dementia from our specially trained staff.
“We are inviting everyone to come along and have a coffee and chat to others who have friends and family living with dementia or are concerned about a loved one.”
Maple Leaf Lodge, run by Barchester Healthcare, provides dementia care, nursing care, residential care and respite care.
