Firefighters visit Newton House Care Home in Grantham




Firefighters visited a care home to give residents a close-up look at a fire engine and some of their equipment.

Newton House Care Home in Barrowby Road welcomed the fire officers, to the delight of residents.

Residents were invited to have a close up look at the fire engine and were shown the equipment used by the fire personnel.

Some residents tried on the firefighters’ helmets.

Sonia Fairhurst, general manager of Newton House said: “To say thank you to our brave fire crew for all of the great work and to all of our emergency services, who do so much for us, we here at Newton House are inviting all members of the police, ambulance and fire services to pop in and take their duty break on us for free.

"We are pleased to offer all of our local service workers who stop in tea, coffee, juice, chilled water, delicious homemade cake and biscuits and a healthy selection of fruit, available free of charge.
