Captured in the early hours of the morning, the burglar can be seen on CCTV successfully breaking into cars, some believed to have been left unlocked by residents. He did not appear to damage the vehicles.

Although several cars were raided, police told the Journal only a laptop and tablet were stolen.

Inspector Gary Stewart, of Lincolnshire Police, said: “This is a pattern of offences with a number of our residents affected.

“We are very grateful for all the support and co-operation from the community and would ask that anyone who has information to call 101 or speak to the local team.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

“Sadly this serves as a reminder to lock your vehicle, remove items of value and never leave anything on show.”

Several villagers in Great Gonerby posted on the village’s community Facebook page that their vehicle had been targeted.

One, Laura Jayne, said: “We lost an iPad.

“But what’s worse is my daughter is now frightened. She feels violated and threatened that they have been in our car.”

The footage shows the suspect sat calmly in the driver’s seat of one car, as he rummaged for items to steal.

Lucinda Michelle Gamble-Cresswell commented: “It’s scary to think, been double checking everything.”

Meanwhile, Ethan Underwood-Simpson wrote: “Right next to my mum’s garden fence, now that is creepy!”

Anyone with information is asked to call Lincolnshire Police on the non-emergency 101 number. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
