St Peter’s Church in Claypole to host book fair for church roof, with £15,000 grant recently secured

A book fair is set to take place in Claypole at the weekend to help raise money for a church roof, with a £15,000 grant recently secured.

St Peter’s Church in Main Street will host a book fair on Saturday from 10am until 1pm.

All of the funds raised will go towards the church's roof appeal, after lead from the roof was stolen several years ago.

A £15,000 grant from Marshall’s Charity, which supports church repairs, was recently secured.

Gillian Padley, one of the people behind the fundraiser, confirmed that three grants applications were currently in progress.

Around £25,000 more is needed of the £85,000 required to replace the church roof.

Everyone is welcome to come to the book fair, where there will also be CDs, DVDs, jigsaws and games.

There will also be a tombola and refreshments available.
