Could you adopt a cat from Grantham ROCK?

A cat rescue centre which managed to keep going despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, is looking for new homes for the cats in its care.

Grantham Rescue of Cats and Kittens (ROCK) has many cats in need of a loving home, including April, Billy, Chloe, Daisy, Stan, Oliver and Molly.

The cat rescue is run by Cath Rowson from her home in Redcross Street, Grantham.

During the coronavirus crisis, Cath has been unable to re-home the cats she cares for.

But she told the Journal: "We have kept going and will not close our doors.

"Thank you to everyone who brings cat food or puts it in our [collection] bins."

  • April is a black and white, short-haired cat. She is around three years old. She can live with older children but no dogs.
  • Billy is an 18-month-old Tabby and white boy. He is short-haired. He must be the only cat in the house and cannot live with dogs.
  • Chloe is a tabby and white, Bengal cross. She needs an owner who can provide plenty of one-on-one time. She cannot live with other cats, nor dogs. She is three years old.
  • Daisy is a black and white girl, around a year old. She is short-haired. She cannot live with small children, dogs or other cats.
  • Brothers Stan and Oliver must be rehomed together. They are black cats and are aged just over a year old. They are short-haired and would love a new home with a garden. They cannot live with other cats, nor dogs.
  • Molly and her two sisters, all tortoiseshell, are looking for a home together. They are around 13 years old. They cannot live with small children, others cats or dogs.

Collection bins can be found in Morrisons supermarket and in Kennelgate Pet Superstore, in London Road.

All cats are neutered or spayed before being rehomed, plus treated with flea and worm treatments.

In addition to family cats, Cath also has a number of farm cats to rehome.
