Court round-up: Grantham defendants face charges
Defendants brought before magistrates recently include:
Aiden Simon Peter Dowell, 19, of Grantley Street, Grantham: admitted stealing a bottle of vodka worth £20 from B&M Bargains on September 18, two bottles of vodka worth £77 from Asda on September 16, a further two bottles of vodka worth £78 from the supermarket on September 17, a bottle of alcohol worth £8.99 from B&M on September 22 and two bottles of alcohol worth £17.98 from B&M on September 29. He was discharged conditionally for 18 months and ordered to pay £75.47 in compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Kieron Lee Noble, 24, of Manthorpe Road, Grantham: admitted stealing a bottle of vodka worth £20 from B&M Bargains on September 18, two bottles of vodka worth £77 from Asda on September 16, two bottles of vodka worth £78 from Asda on September 17, two bottles of alcohol worth £24.98 from B&M on September 22 and a bottle of alcohol worth £13.98 from B&M on September 29. He was discharged conditionally for 18 months and ordered to pay £87.46 in compensation, a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Jonas Lukosevicius, 44, of Rochester Drive, Grantham: admitted driving a Vauxhall Vectra in Grantham without insurance on October 6, and with 93 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35mcg. He was fined £1,000, ordered to pay a £100 victim surcharge and £85 costs and disqualified from driving for 36 months.
Kevin John Arkell, 69, of Great Close, South Witham: admitted driving a Hyundai vehicle in Market Deeping with 62mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, on October 6. He was fined £130, ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and banned from driving for 17 months.
Paul John Stokes, 41, of Chichester Close, Grantham: admitted harassing a female at Barrowby between September 24 and October 5, by sending numerous text messages and approaching her at a school. He was fined £1,000 and told to pay £200 in compensation, a £100 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Colin Robert Johns, 34, of Harrowby Road, Grantham: admitted stealing two packs of razor blades, worth £54, from Boots on October 30. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20.
Jordan Gray, 23, of no fixed address: admitted assaulting a police community support officer on June 8, failing to surrender at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on July 10, committing a further offence while the subject of a conditional discharge for an offence of assaulting an officer, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour against a female and being drunk and disorderely, all in Lincoln on November 24, 2017. Gray also admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in High Street, Grantham, on June 22 and failing to surrender to custody at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on July 19. He was made the subject of a community order including a rehabilitation requirement, made the subject of a three-year criminal behaviour order banning him from sitting in any commercial premises’ entrance between 8am and 9pm in parts of Lincoln and Grantham and being in possession of unsealed alcohol in these locations, and told to pay a £30 victim surcharge.
Grant John Morley, 29, of Farndale Crescent, Grantham: admitted using threatnening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Grantham on March 18. He was fined £400 and told to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Neil Shelford, 42, of Rosemary Crescent, Grantham: admitted assaulting a police constable while at his home address on October 4. He was discharged conditionally for 18 months and told to pay compensation of £150 and £85 costs.
James Carter, 20, of Balmoral Drive, Grantham: admitted damaging a Volkswagen Golf’s windows, doors and fittings in Aire Road, Grantham, on October 21. He was made the subject of a community order including a rehabilitation requirement, made the subject of a restraining order banning communication with a named female and attending a property in Aire Road, and told to pay £1,000 in compensation and £85 costs.
Steven Pollard, 42, of The Avenue, Grantham: admitted driving a Toyota in Dysart Road, Grantham, on April 20 without due care and attention. He was fined £300, told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs and his driving licence endorsed with seven penalty points.
Kirsty Louise Clayton, 32, of Manor Drive, Great Gonerby: admitted committing fraud by using another person’s bank card to buy goods at Sainsbury’s on April 7. She was committed to prison for seven days while already serving a custodial sentence until 2020.
Paul David Browne, 32, of Castlegate, Grantham: admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in Grantham on August 16. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
Terrie Natalie Diment, 32, of Bridge End Road, Grantham: admitted committing fraud by using another person’s bank card to buy goods worth £50.28 at A. J. News in Westgate, goods worth £29.13 from Watkins Butchers and further goods in Sainsbury’s, all on April 7. Diment also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge for offences of theft and failing to surrender at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court. She was ordered to carry out 50 hours’ unpaid work within 12 months and told to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
